1961 - Campeonato Mundial de Carros Esporte

O Campeonato Mundial do ano de 1961 teve amplo domínio da Scuderia Ferrari, os opositores mais fortes foram os italianos da Maserati e os alemães da Porsche. A Maserati obteve apenas uma vitória em Nurburgring, e a Porsche ainda estava desenvolvendo seu carro e aumentando aos poucos a cilindrada, está tática daria frutos no final da década, mas neste ano ainda não eram páreos para os Ferrari. Entre os pilotos que se destacaram pela Ferrari estavam: Phil Hill, Oliver Gendebien, Gianpiero Baghetti, Willy Mairesse, Richie Ginther, Wolfgang von Trips, Ricardo Rodriguez, Pedro Rodriguez e Lorenzo Bandini.
